On Second Thought...

On Second thought... Maybe I should have waited and brought the dog to the groomer.

Brady/Guy/Barkley/Fuzz/Dopey/Dumbass has turned into a mangy mess in the last few weeks. This is the longest he's gone without a haircut in a long time. I have been grooming him for a few years now, but I vowed last time that it would be the last time and I would just suck it up and pay the $35/$40 for the groomer to take care of it. So Dave and I have been trying to find the best and cheapest place to bring him. Julie's groomer (my choice): $36; Dave's choice: The mobile groomer that comes to your home: $65. Julie's groomer was winning, but I had no desire to bring the dog there and take 3 kids in with me to drop him off and pick him up. I said this a couple of times waiting for Dave to nicely offer to do it for me, but he didn't respond (huh, in 7 years he still hasn't learned to read my mind...). So today I just got sick of it and decided that I would just do it myself. He was such a mess and when his hair gets long he gets kind of mopey, and I was sick of the problem. So at 10:00 I put Georgia to bed and got everything together and began... He was less than thrilled to be a part of this process and was not willing to sit for another second by 11:10. So the end result is one dog, face mostly done, body mostly done 2 out of 4 legs and feet partially done, 2 out of 4 feet not at all done... He looks like a freak of nature. I don't even want to let him outside for fear that the squirrels will make fun of him. Actually, I SHOULD let him outside and let people make fun of him - that'll teach him to give me problems while I'm cutting his hair:) Perhaps I will actually follow through on my long-standing threat to open the door and just let him go or the other threat to pack him in the car and drop him off on I-55 and let him try to find his way home. Since all cylinders do not fire in that brain, he'll never make it home. And with the way he looks right now, I'm not so sure anyone will think he is cute enough to take home with them. Stupid Dog.
