I am sick. Not as sick as yesterday, but still kind of sick. And I'm sick of comcast, but thats a different story:)

Sunday night after coming home from VBS (Parkview's - amazing), I went to bed and was reading. At about 10:20 I realized that I didn't feel good and thought to myself, "I'm going to be throwing up all night." And I did. All night.

On Monday morning I woke up feeling a little better - if you consider feeling really horrible, but not having to throw up as feeling a little better. I looked at the shower and wanted to cry. Instead I went downstairs and laid on the couch. Dave took care of the girls and asked me three times if he needed to stay home - I told him I would be okay and he should go to work. At 12:15, after I had slept for 1 1/2 hours (while Ryann got into my jewelry), I had to get Georgia up from her nap. I got out of bed and fell immediately to the floor - I was light headed, my stomach was queasy and I had no idea how I was going to get Georgia out of her crib and feed all three girls lunch. I called Dave.

"I don't know how you're going to do it, but I NEED you to come home - at least for lunch - because I don't know how to take care of these girls."

His response, "I'm on my way. I'm sick, too."

Yes, yes I feel bad for him - he's sick, too. I don't want him to be sick - never. However, I am wondering why can't I be sick by myself? Why can't it be all about me for one day? Why does he get to be sick, too?

He came home, found me on the floor of Georgia's room (where I was when I called him 45 minutes earlier), and fed the girls lunch while I went back to bed. I slept from 1:15-4:30 and felt a little better. Better enough to get myself two pieces of toast and a ginger ale and to feed the girls dinner. I don't know how sick he was since I was pretty self-absorbed yesterday. As long as there was someone else in the house I figured the girls were getting cared for - I don't know how well they were being cared for, but nonetheless, someone was there.

Oh how miserable I was - achy, feverish, queasy, hungry, couldn't get comfortable, my knees hurt, my back hurt, by ankles hurt, my wrists hurt, my head hurt, my eyes hurt. Doc - why does this happen - why do fevers settle into those places? And one more question - how long are we contagious? Am I able to go to the blogging pool party on Wednesday (tomorrow). Help!

You are sooooo funny! Where do I start? You have an uncanny way of putting into words things I have only thought. I think you guys ate something bad...that's the only time I've felt like it would be better to die...well, not the only time but one of them. I hate the stomach flu more than just about anything, so Doug...please answer quickly we need to know if JD can come?!?!?!

Jana, I am SO sorry you were so sick. It stinks, especially in the summer time. UGH. I do hope you're well enough to go tomorrow...well, kind of. :)

i am not 2:49 PM

First - when is diarrhea reasonable?
Second - girls had it last week - Nora on Monday, Ryann on Thursday... i'm just feeling like this was a long incubation period. I thought it might be food poisoning, too, but then Dave got it (he didn't eat what I ate for dinner that night). How long does it take for food poisoning to take effect? Could it have been from Saturday night or Sunday lunch? And I'm pretty sure we both had slight fevers - food poisoning wouldn't cause the chills and the achiness would it?

Now I'm on Georgia watch, though, so the jury is out on the pool party.

Oh I hear you! I get so MAD at Rick when he has the nerve to get sick the same time I am! LOL And it happens every time. I just want to be sick all by myself! Does that sound to whiny.... he he.
I sure hope you continue to feel better. Oh that just wipes a person out to have the overnight thing. Praying...

Yuck! I'm so sorry you're sick! I do hope you're feeling better: for your sake, as well as mine (our family is going on vacation to Williamsburg & Washington D.C. on Friday and I really don't want to be sick!). Maybe we'll see you on Thursday.

Sorry you're sick, but you are still funny! I agree that we never get our own downtime. If I'm exhausted, so is Jeff. It never fails. Hopefully this passes soon!!!

Oh, and by the way, I totally know your pain with the hubby getting sick too...what's up with that? Maybe Doc Beautiful has an opinion?

Carol 8:04 AM

how come our cute pictures don't show up when we comment on your blog? I tried to list my blog name under my profile, but now it just gets stuck.
Melissa, laughing Melissa: you really should read my post about JD on my blog, which is:

Hope to make you laugh some more!
JD -- I do hope you are feeling much better today!

And I do know what you mean about having a sick spouse at the same time. No fair! He should be picking up the slack! And I think you should have an "All about me" day and you shouldn't have to be sick to get it! I don't even get an "all about me" day on my birthday, because that is also my husband's birthday. I'm not complaining though, it's pretty cool that we share everything...that too! It took me a long time to find someone that had the same birthday as me and was someone I wanted to spend the rest of my life with! oh...maybe that should be a post someday!
